Story

Sacred Eyes is an RPG Maker VX game that follows Milia, a blond busty girl who becomes a Saint Knight to protect a town she moved into from the increasing amounts of monsters that have been showing up and attacking people. By following the jobs given to her by the leader of the town guard she protects the peace and fights off monsters.

And that’s about it. There’s an evil monster cult, but I never learned anything about them other then they want to destroy the world or something. The one character in that cult who might have a plot only has a story in the V.2 of the game which is untranslated. The translator completely translated version 1.3, which was the most up to date at the time. Then the game got updated and he never went back and finished it up, so the true game ending, an improved evil ending, 5 h scenes, and the replay room(but not the scenes themselves) are not translated. When I played, I didn’t run into Japanese until near the end, but the scene felt important as up to that point the plot had been non existent. Finally something new was happening, but I couldn’t understand it and due to that I got the “good” ending which was unsatisfying and I didn’t play the game again.

The last thing to note is that you can play as a villain of sorts. One of Milia’s stats is guilt and if you bring it up you can get into an evil organization which has a different plotline. No idea if that plot is good(though I’ve heard it is), but from what I saw it was at least very different. So maybe? Then again, since its ending sequence is untranslated, does it really matter?

-Update- The only stuff I really bothered reading from the 2.0 was seeing the true good ending, and while not good it at least gives closure on the good ending, adds a reason for the name of the game, and some intrigue.  It adds some story to the bad girl so she has a reason to have a face, and to get it you have to actually search for it. I would not say the story or game is much better, but at the least it with the true good end it tries to have some actual plot.

Gameplay

The game is a basic turn based RPG, with all of its differing features being outside of combat. The only things to note about the fights is that 1. Your clothes rip based on health, so if your low you are basically naked and then enemies can grope/rape you, and 2. The game is hard. Enemies stay strong enough to always be a threat, and you don’t get enough money from fights to justify farming or downing potions to fight more. But you need to farm, since this game has a crafting system. Enemies drop parts that you need to bring to the weapon store to craft into better gear. Its basic but a more interesting way to get new weapons.shields then just buying them.

Other then crafting, the other two parts of note is the alignment system and how to get skills. For alignment, their are three sides; faith, lewd and guilt. Faith is given from quests and doing things for people and is needed to get the best sword and learn some skills. Lewd increases attack power and lets you get more scenes(and eventually walk around naked), and is raised by getting h scenes. Guilt is raised by stealing things, which can end in getting arrested, and may lead to the evil story. Each is shown in the bottom right corner of the menu, in the order above.

Skills come to the player in three ways. One is to get Faith and then talk to the single towns priest. If you have enough, you get an h scene with him and get some skills which are normally a heal spell. You can also buy magic from a store in the west part of town, though for some reason they are all fire spells, and cost a lot of MP to cast(in fact, everything costs a lot of MP…). The other way to learn new skills is the typical level up method, which gets the player linearly better physical skills,

Beyond those systems, nothing of real interest is in the game. There are some other outfits the player can get get, a maid outfit and a bikini. They are really only used for getting specific scenes, and are worthless for fights. You can also get turned into a monster(a plant girl or slime girl. Three scenes each) that leads into more scenes, but end in bad/early ends and don’t do much else. The game also has a skip function tied to the s key, but all that really does is help get through the boring text faster and skip h scenes you don’t want to see.

Sex Stuff And Other Things

The game does have a good variety of sex scenes and some good art. The main female appears “squishy,” like her skin is actually soft, though she appears shorter in the menu then I feel she should be. She also starts out with some knowledge and is not afraid of sex like other RPGMaker heroines usually start off as.

The main theme is corruption, but its not a huge jump to that from the start. She goes from being reluctant to being fine with whatever she does, so the corruption part does not really shine through. There is good variety though, from a few scenes where MC has monster parts and uses them in scene, to food being used to tease her, prostitution, exhibition, rape, and a number of others. Add to the variety with every scene with penetration having a virginity variation and the game ends up with a lot of unique h scenes and situations.

My problem with this game is the story and the game itself. It has no goal, no theme or anything. The game has no driving force beyond the sex scenes. Being unvoiced and non animated, the art has to carry that with a few sound effects. While its not the worse I’ve seen, its not astounding.

Lots of the the game is stock RPG Maker stuff, save for the main heroine and maybe a song or two.

Overall, I’d say ignore this game. While it might seem decent, it overall has nothing to grab the player. Nothing really lingers after playing it, and it doesn’t stand out in anything. It has decent points, but with missing some translation and its almost boring presentation its not really worth the time to play. There are worse to play; but better as well.  This one just does not stand out enough to recommend.

 

Save is in the gallery area. Talk to people to see scenes, and talk to a fairy to change virginity status(option 1 is virgin, option 2 is nonvirgin for all scenes). The two at the bottom can start a new game. The bottom section of the gallery is where all the untranslated material is, so stick to the top.
