The second game in the series, a prequel that contains its sequel. I still hate it, but it’s less stabbing myself with a needle and more poking myself. It still hurts a bit, but I’m not bleeding as much.
Unlike the original, I can’t remember any advertisement for Zero. I think I played it out of a weird sense of achievement whoring? Like the first game worked, might as well do the second? Oh, and I loved save importing which this one has. That was probably the actual reason I stuck with a series I already didn’t like.

Just to be clear, I have no idea who the phantoms are. No one in this game is ever called a phantom, and there is no group of 2 and suddenly a third enters. The game’s about a set of twins and their foster parents who are siblings. That’s four, not three.
Anyway, Bleach. I watched Bleach around until the end of the Soul Society arc, which I guess was a good thing since most of what I hear beyond that point isn’t really that great. There’s something about the ending that really sucks apparently, and I kind of enjoy having no idea why any love for Bleach as a series just kind of died one day.
For those who don’t what what Bleach is, it’s very anime. Orange haired kid can see ghosts and gets the power to fight evil ghosts. After some real world shenanigans that set up his main crew he gets involved with Soul Society, a group that basically manages reincarnation and wandering souls. Apparently some rule breaking happens with the girl who gave Ichigo aka orange hair his powers and stuff happens and it’s all part of a giant two sided conspiracy fight apparently. None of that matters for this game beyond that Soul Society is a thing and that arc happened.
As for why a Bleach game is here, well this game has many hot spring cgs. For some reason. The cgs themselves aren’t anything impressive. I just wanted to highlight a series with some well known fanservice girls. And guys I guess, the game is very equal about who is in this hot springs.

This is also the second time the main character isn’t Neptune, the other being Nepgear. Noire takes center stage in this adventure through Gamarket.

The pseudo sequel but really just a lot of copied assets into a slightly better game. Gold is a not sequel, it literally has nothing to do with the original’s plot but uses the entirely same cast(with like 8 new characters) to tell a slightly different story.

Queen’s Blade is what happens when you take Senran Kagura and make it for adults with adults. And a fantasy adventure instead of faux ninjas. I also don’t think it happened in that order. Implied sex, lesbians, one of the girls has a kid, lots of almost nudity, and some of the hardest characters to cosplay in fiction without being indecent.
So what kind of game would you expect from Queen’s Blade? Well its about a tournament so a fighting game would make the most sense, right? It’s not. The only genre’s to come from this license were a MMO(that just uses the name and nothing else but is also filled with ecchi and big boobs), and two strategy RPG’s for the PSP, never localized. And really, the game’s are far better then you would expect from that console and this IP.
[Ecchi]Utawarerumono 2: Mask of Truth
Originally I intended to have Mask of Deception and Truth as the same post, and just not talk about any of the plot elements of Truth. Then I read Truth, and I couldn’t not complain about it. So this post is going to be me ranting about Mask of Truth and how it basically ruined the good setup Mask of Deception gave it. Spoilers will be here. I won’t spoil the biggest surprises, but since I have to talk about romances and the ending to get my complaints straight, I have to spoil a few things.
[Ecchi]Utawarerumono 2: Mask of Deception
So my first ever hentai game was Utawarerumono. It was one of the first three anime I had ever seen that wasn’t on TV, and so it has something of a special place in my heart. So when the anime for the sequel was coming up, I was excited. Then it became straight hot springs and character introductions for 6 episodes and I never came back. Ignored the games when they came west.
Later on I would learn why the anime was like that, but at that point I was pretty invested in actual porn. But now that Uta 2 has come to Steam, I thought it was about time I corrected myself and played these, though I would have thought they would have more fanservice. The anime was like 75% hot spring time, but this? Less then 5.
Also, only Mask of Deception for now. Because of save game bonus I decided to get them out separately.
