[Ecchi]Utawarerumono 2: Mask of Deception

So my first ever hentai game was Utawarerumono. It was one of the first three anime I had ever seen that wasn’t on TV, and so it has something of a special place in my heart. So when the anime for the sequel was coming up, I was excited. Then it became straight hot springs and character introductions for 6 episodes and I never came back. Ignored the games when they came west.

Later on I would learn why the anime was like that, but at that point I was pretty invested in actual porn. But now that Uta 2 has come to Steam, I thought it was about time I corrected myself and played these, though I would have thought they would have more fanservice. The anime was like 75% hot spring time, but this? Less then 5.

Also, only Mask of Deception for now. Because of save game bonus I decided to get them out separately.

[Ecchi]Mary Skelter Nightmares

The blood fetish game without any blood fetish art, Mary Skelter. So I knew going into this game that it had a sequel, and that sequel is a better game in a lot of ways. What I didn’t expect was the first game being as bland as it was in every department other then aesthetics.

This is the blood fetish stuff, by the way. It’s really not as used as you would expect, given the synopsis.

This is a dungeon crawler with boring dungeons, a class based RPG where the classes barely matter, a fetish game that barely has any ecchi art, and a mystery that drags itself through a 20-30 hours RPG when the answers are right in front of you 5 hours in. Let’s look at those issues for a bit.

The newest title from Lunasoft, the people who made Spirits of Retarnia. This game is nothing like Retarnia, other then randomized loot stuff, so throw that fact out of your mind. This is more like Diablo 2 lite kinda thing.

The sequel to Theif & Troll, and the third game in the [Class] & [Class] choose your own advanture series from yukari. This one is probably my least favorite of the bunch, for mostly mechanical reasons.

So this wasn’t suppose to be the first porn game that I cover this year, but my first choice was a bit more broken then I expected and I decided to just restart that later, so I went to this instead, cause I liked the art and male protags aren’t that common.

This is a pretty standard RPG Maker Ace game, with a nice art style(to me at least) and not much else going for it.

[Ecchi]Omega Labyrinth Life

Omega Labyrinth Life is the third game in the bust expansion mystery dungeon series, the first to come to the western world.

This is one of the girls without the breast expansion. Surprising, since I expected them all to be flat to start.

For those not in the know or only coming into the internet a bit late, Sony instituted a censorship policy a year or two ago. Basically they would bring a game to some western review board and decide if the game went too far with fanservice, if they decided yes, the game couldn’t come out without editing. This hit Omega Labyrinth Z hard, because it was basically release ready when they got their denial and the game just couldn’t be edited enough to pass or it wasn’t worth it. This resulted in us never getting the second game in English, and for this one to get two releases. A “Lite” version that skips all the fanservice for the PS4 only, and the Switch and PC version being fan service heavy as usually for the series. While I can’t confirm this, I suspect a couple of issues I have with the game come from this one not having the expected budget it would have had, and this one going from expected to be the second in English to first.

What follows are my opinions on the game, and after that some tips if you want to 100% the game. After that is a rant about one of the bonus dungeons and how unfitting it was to this game.
