Calling this an ecchi title is a bit iffy, as it’s really close to just porn. Anyway, another Fox Eye game so more women underwater with horrible fates awaiting them. This is considered the most lewd of the whole lot that has been made to date featuring plenty of nudity(bottom is barbied), end scenes where monsters basically sex the girl to death, and her enjoying a good chunk of them.

It’s a metroidvania, aka explore but no level ups just power ups to find. It’s a fairly difficulty one in that genre, with a lot of instant death situations and close shave swimming sections, but the quick retry system makes the difficulty not particularly annoying.

Our heroine, Margaret, uses dual pistols as her weapon of choice, though they start out pathetic. She can jump,. swim, crouch, crawl, and catch corners to bring herself up. That’s about all she starts with. Her clothes are a mechanic where if she’s naked she takes more damage, but she gets more excited. You start at 50 excitement but at 100 and 150 your shots get powered up, though your oxygen amount lessens greatly. A big part of planning the speedrun for one of the cg rewards is knowing when to be naked or clothed. You lose clothes as you get hit(bottom and top have three phases each), or you can swap to naked or fully clothes at save points.

As I mentioned above, this is one of the more kill a lot of the genre that I’ve played. It has a lot of do or die moments, though part of that is how I played it, and a lot of bad conveyance on what to do next. The best example is these snakes that raise from the ground. I think you get a clue that you aren’t suppose to attack them or move quickly near them, but I don’t remember seeing that clue. I died a good 20 times trying to figure them out, then another five getting through the one room in the game with them. My first run of the game took 7 hours. Second run for all items collected? 2 and a half.

Personally I enjoyed the challenge. I started the game on the highest difficulty so basically 2 hits was death from basically everything. Even with health tanks there were plenty of instant death attacks that do almost no damage on other difficulties. I learned how to play the game really defensively and got frustrated at how bad it explained what I needed to do, but once I figured things out I walked away with a pretty good feeling of accomplishment. The last run I did for the game was a 0 percent run, aka no upgrades beyond progress required ones. Made me rethink the whole game do to missile shortage and I finally learned how to actually fight the third boss. Basically I enjoyed the game once I knew what I was doing, so it is designed well.

The story is pretty basic. Margaret is suppose to be the guardian for a tower that supplies water to humans. She slacked off for some amount of time(I think 100’s of years) and came back when Apollo told her bad things were going to happen if she didn’t go in and clean the tower up. Turns out some humans entered the tower to, and of course there’s some bigger secret in the tower itself and its purpose. Margaret just kind of does her thing because she doesn’t want to get punished by the gods. She kind of turns around and starts taking it seriously around the half way point, when the intrigue starts.

The English is kind of bad. You can understand the premise, but when it comes to puzzles it gets difficult. Especially when the puzzles are trying to be cryptic. Cryptic plus hard to read make for a horrible combo.

The lewd is everywhere. Every unique death has a cg, and almost every cg has variations based on how much clothes Margaret has. So expect to see her ass and tits a lot in the higher difficulties. You can of course run around naked and see her jiggle around. Note that just because she’s naked a lot doesn’t mean the cgs are really erotic, she is dying in a decent chunk of them after all.

So the actual cgs are why calling this ecchi feels a bit off. For the most part its fine. When she’s defeated by drowning or damage all you see is tits so it just feels like ecchi for a specific crowd. When it’s a monster though, the whole thing changes. The gorgon is just kissing, though based on the girls expression she’s done and not in a sexual way. The lizard men restraining her is basically the same the level. It’s the vermin monsters where it gets weird. The bats and leeches suck her nipples to defeat her. That’s both in the cg, and their actual attack animation. The rats are worse. They trip her, then start licking her out. Her defeat to that is very obviously her orgasming to rat tongue. Then there is one cg from the rewards where you beat the game in a specific way where you get to see like a fourth of Apollo’s dick. it gets covered by some message about dev documents you unlock with that image, but you can still see the shaft and like a few pixels of the head.

In short, calling this ecchi is reaching, hard. It still technically follows the rules of no lower genitalia fully visible, no shown sex; though that one is very iffy do to the rat and bats. I’m going to stick with it being an ecchi game cause it still doesn’t have that much and I feel it doesn’t fit being called porn either.

So the last set of cgs require beating the game while meeting certain requirements. Get all items, get no items, get the 4 secret items, speedrun, highest difficulty are the main ones. In total, do to not knowing these and when the point of no return was, it took me 4 full runs of the game to get them all.
