April Brings Things Back to Life

Master Save Archive 3/18/26 Spreadsheet is now included in the archive. There’s two reasons for this. One I don’t want to rely on a 3rd party to keep the spreadsheet up with age verification stuff popping up everywhere. Two, I was basically keeping two separate spreadsheets updated for no real good reason.

So originally I wanted to do a revival theme. Like spring, back to life, I thought it’d work. Then I sat back and actually looked at my options and man did I not have nearly enough of what I wanted.

So I started with literal back to life, so resurrection isekai or vampire/zombie back to life stuff. Heroine or protag, either would work. I think Holy Undead was one of the only options? There’s a couple of zombie and vampire heroines in the VN world but basically none of them are turned into those as part of the story. Even Dracu Riot doesn’t have the protagonist dying and becoming a vampire, his transformation was less life threatening then I expected. As for isekai, summoning is actually the most common VN way to get isekaied + almost all of them are nukige.

So I was going to go back to just undead but that felt bland. Had no inspiration to it, so I’m going to instead use revive in the most abstract ways I can. Reviving old projects, revival in stories and so on. I’m basically abstracting it to be dumb.

That’s the intent, but in reality I’m basically doing like a project for each slot then moving onto new releases. Bunny Garden 2 and Making Lovers First Blush are must plays for me, to the point I’ll drop things to get to them.

The break below is me testing something with site stats.

18+

Current- Eternal Romance has way more post game content then I expected. I intended it be done by now, but it should be done within a week.

Ecchi-

Current- Senran Kagura Burst Re;Newal- Technically this is just a carry over from all girls month, but it fits the reviving a series I could finish as a theme. Hanzo is done and a bit into Hebijo, so like halfway through April or so?

Visual Novel-

Current- DRACU-RIOT, LoveJuiced, Ima Sugu Oniichan. RIOT is pure I wanted to read it(though it does have vampires and was the origin of the theme even if it really doesn’t fit), same with LoveJuiced. I really wanted a pure vanilla nukige after the avalanche of Orcsoft I’ve read. Ima Sugu is from a dead company, and I wanted an all ages moege that’s considered decent.

Orcsoft Company Save– This has Chii Chan and Pero Pero Princess added, and that’s a rap for Orcsoft for a while. While I really like some of their games there was a lot more duds then I expected. I don’t for for NTR or whatever the newest one was, nor swapping so for the foreseeable future I’m just going to sit on what I’ve finished. AKA I’m moving on to other nukige’s.

Akai Ito HD Remaster– Reading Yumeustustu made me want to read this, I figured out why pretty quickly. The playable character in this is really similar to Ai from Re;Master. A ditz with little actual skill but some determination. Though going from a business story to an action/horror thing with that kind of protag is a very big switchup.

Story basics is a girl lost her last remaining parent and finds out about an inheritence of a house out in the middle of nowhere. She goes to check this out and by the second night is attacked by some Oni at which point she is caught up in a bunch of old grudges, history, and her own past memories that are sealed away. There’s 5 heroines that each add to the overall plot.

Akai Ito is one of those games that is fairly hard to get right in English, as it relies heavily on Japanese word terms and history for it’s exposition of which there is a lot. Especially in Sakuya’s route, which doesn’t have a fantranslation version to fix the pretty bad official translation. The rest of the read was fairly fun, if not as exciting as I wish it could have been. Akai Ito and it’s sister game Aoishiro are what I’d call shoujo ai in genre, or barely girl’s love. They are about mostly female casts and you play a girl with the routes being about growing closer to another girl, but little actual romance actual occurs and it’s hard to say if any actual couples come out of the routes. Both tend to use blood drinking to replace kissing or any other kind of romance scene.

Still I got what I wanted out of the read, a ditz/airhead of a protagonist through a fairly okay story. I do wish the flowchart the game uses would let you move through it like Yuzusoft’s flowcharts tend to, it would make hunting scenes down easier as Akai Ito is a visual novel that actually needs a flowhcart.

As for the whole revival theme idea, Akai Ito was suppose to be a March game anyway, so revivng last month + it’s the only Japanese game I actually own in physical. This was me finishing a very old project. Like 15 years I think?
