Story

In Toushin Toshi 2, you play as a man named Seed who is living at a dojo. His girlfriend, Hazuki, is the daughter of the master. The master, needed a successor and Seed not progressing in his training at all, sends Hazuki with the best from the dojo to a tournamnet where if her partner wins, she can marry Seed(at least thats what he tells her.)

Seed learns about this, and becomes sad. His adopted sister forces some drive out of him and they go to the tournament, for if Seed wins he CAN marry Hazuki.

The tournament rules are as such, you must have a beautiful female partner(if a girl, you yourself may count), elimination style matches, winner gets to do whatever they want to the loser’s partner for one night and that partner is taken as debt to the city. There is a lot more dark stuff like this throughout, like one of the previous tournament winners coming around and raping the barmaid. Plus, there is a secret of why no winner of the tournament has ever left the city. The game is only halfway done when you finish the tournament.

This is a story about how Seed grows and copes with the events that occur in a city. He goes from being a whiny loser to a more troubled but strong willed person.

Gameplay

Combat suffers from age. Its one on one, with you getting a decent amount of spells, and the ability to imbue your swords with the element of the sword. It all seems cool, except the spells are really not that good. Heal does like 20 health at max level(level through use) and you will have like 300 by that time. Your sword will be your main source of actual damage. The combat is more enjoyable then most of the combat in MGQ though(opinion). It just feels more real.

So the game plays as such, you wake up, go to the dungeon and advance events sometimes leaving to get people to advance events. Once the dungeon section you are allowed to access is complete with its events, you can win the match and move on. There is a karma system in game, but other then lower xp gain for every point, it does nothing. Unless you take every bad option, then you get an early game end.

H scenes and other things

H is old, but decently long and detailed. Though not bad, the art is old, which may turn you off(or you might hate the anime feel 80% of the games on here have) and there is no voice acting or clips or sound effects. It also has the annoying option menu during scenes that I can’t like. It just slows them down when you want to skip through. H variety is some consensual stuff, but mostly rape stuff, with a few other odd things thrown about.

This is a solid older title, that I would say is worth a play. Its story is dark and interesting. And if you like stories about growth, that is what this one is all about.

Save contains a cleared game, which contains a scene replay that has about 80% of the scenes. The other scenes just don’t get a replay for some reason. Also, cg gallery. Update, added an in-game save with all the achievement medals gotten and ready to begin the end of the game.
