Xross Scramble is a collection of three Duel Savior fandiscs translated before we got the original game due to hacking problems. It contains two new stories in Xross Savior and Two Princesses, and a harder survival mode+challenge mode in Scramble Survivor.
Story/Gameplay
Xross Savior starts out with Taiga getting drugged, but due to a mishap the drug gives Taiga the power of transform into others. This effect lasts for barely a second, but allows Taiga to copy everyone elses fighting styles. Of course, all he wants to do is copy a girl and grope himself in her form, but he never gets to do that. Soon after gaining this power a new student joins the hero school for heroes, and the main focus of the story is actually on her.
The main point to Xross Savior is the cameos. Unlike the original Duel Savior, you fight almost solely human enemies of which to copy move sets from. Most of these human’s are character’s from other Giga(parent company of BALDRHEAD) and other TEAM BALDRHEAD games.
Xross is a linear story, but the most complete fandisc in the collection. It contains one h scene near the end, which is a fairly standard one. It is also more of an RPG then the previous game, since not only levels you also gain new movesets to use that literally turn you into the character in battle. In universe, Taiga ends up being the strongest thing alive by the end. Also, the movesets are limited by a number of points, with certain moves costing more points. I don’t know if level or just game time brings the total you can have up. Also, you cannot unlock every moveset in the list in this mode, you just don’t fight everything.
Two Princesses is a much shorter story that is more of normal VN, it only contains one fight that is barely a challenge. It follows Taiga as he interacts with a princess and her lookalike and learns of a plot to overthrow the country. Once you beat it once, replay to get a choice which lets you have a different experience. One h scene per
Scramble Survivor should not be played until you beat the other two since some of it is locked until you do. This contains a much harder set of challenges and survival matches then the original game, with big and small variations of the old enemies thrown in for variety. You unlock some cgs for beating the challenges and for getting to match 100 in survival(you can replay any fight you lose or even come back later, in fact I don’t think survival is the right name for this, more like set fights or something). You can play as every character in these games in this fandisc, even basic enemies.
H Scenes and other stuff
H wise these are surprisingly sparse. Taiga is still a pervert with sex as one of his goals, but yet only 3 scenes happen total. All of them are fairly standard first time scenes, with the Xross one being slightly amusing due to how airheaded the girl is. Two of the three scenes are with a loli character/s, that even make Taiga question if he should it them or not. Actually Taiga acts very seriously throughout Two Princesses, not out of character seriously but more he is in a dangerous situation, sex is not the goal right now.
Overall, Xross is a lot of fun, with the other two being decent distractions. Princess is also mostly focused on my favorite character from Duel Savior, so I like it more then most would. Having played this before Duel Savior, I would say these are decent stand alone games, and if you enjoy Duel Savior these are a must play. I would even say Xross is more fun to play then the original game. If you don’t have a lot of time but want to see if you would like Duel Savior, I implore you to try Xross. It keeps the same feel of the original while being a much shorter but more compact experience.
Note- this game will not work on Windows 8 due to direct X problems, and the 4th fandisc, the mech one, will never be translated and does not work when you have the english patch installed. The game will just crash if you select it.
Save contains all cgs, scenes, and music available for replay(I think the translator might have removed the other cgs and scenes from the untranslated work, though not sure about that).
