Story

Virgin Island is an RPG Maker VX game about Rifi, a virgin adventurer with an asshole partner. He goes to rape her after an unsuccessful dungeon trip. She trips and falls into a deep cave lake and he presumes her dead, and then goes to hit on the inn owner in her forties in front of the cave.

Rifi , not drowning, is saved by the Virgin Goddess because she’s a virgin. The goddess wants her powers back and sends Rifi, with the virgin sword that’s stronger for virgin’s, out to an island to reclaim the other half of an artifact to recover the goddess’ power. Upon doing so, and if Rifi’s still a virgin, the goddess will grant her one wish.

Then you leave the cave, beat up your asshole partner, and go treasure hunting where the artifact is, on a demon infested island. The closer port to the ruins is closed, so you must journey across the island to get to the ruins for the artifact.

During this time no real plot occurs, and once you claim the artifact you are just told the goddess needs time to recover. Now you have no clue what to do. If you use the item the goddess gave you, you can make a wish and then get game over when a giant demon shows up and kills everyone. You need to find it and kill it to get your real ending, which can be a chore due to no hints on his location. It also feels a but random, since there is no indication of the thing until the bad ending or getting through a hidden dungeon from finding Sephiroth three times.

Gameplay

The gameplay is basic one vs one or group with encounters being non random. They chase you, but once you are of a certain level they just stand still. You only ever control Rifi in combat, but luckily she gets a lot of new moves and options. Every boss drops a new move, some events give new skills, and one of your equippables is a spellbook of which there are four which are off the beaten trail but not hard to find. You start with a heal spell and a special attack thanks to being a virgin.

Virginity is actually important to the game itself. A number of h scenes won’t happen as long as Rifi is a virgin, she loses her strongest starting move when she loses her virginity, at least two of the games endings depend on being a virgin until the end or until a specific point and both of those endings get credits while the rest don’t. The final boss is easier if you are a virgin when you go to fight it. It’s actually an incentive to try not to get Rifi to sleep with everything, at least until her hymen is ripped then it doesn’t matter.

A few other things the game has is a mercenary system. Instead of getting actual party members, you can recruit mercs who will attack in combat. Enemies won’t target them, you have no control over them, all they do is attack. They can miss, crit, and each one has a different debuff that triggers randomly. They are a nice thing to have, but with how money works, as in you will never have enough, they are definitely not a necessity. You can only hire one at a time, and they will leave at various events and any time you rest, so you have to go rehire one of them everytime you use an inn.

The game has a lust system, but it does little. Only about three events actually need a certain lust, most just depend on previous scenes and repetition. The more important mechanic to mention is clothes destruction and how horrible it is. You have one outfit, and it will rip no matter what hits you. Any attack can rip it and it felt like the first two levels of the clothes would rip almost immediately, leaving you in your underwear where monsters can molest and rape you. If they orgasm inside you, your stats are cut to 3/4 and you need to go back to the first town to fix it. Not to mention having ripped clothes lowers your defense and you can only repair through a buyable item.

The last mechanic is limited inventory space. You have 50 slots, and all accessories and consumables count separately. 3 herbs is three slots. While interesting in theory, this is never important. I never went above 40 items, and to do that you would need to overstock on stuff. But with money how it is, you will rarely have the funds for that. It’s just a non problem that could have meant something.

H scenes and various other things

The game has a decent variety of non penetration scenes. Exhibition, different styles of foreplay, masturbation, scraping semen out of the vagina, and a few groping scenes. The game has a good number of cgs so that a different set of scenes never reuses, and they are all of a decent quality. There are a couple of outright rape scenes, but a number of the scenes with penetration either use mindcontrol/drugs or are consensual in some weird way plus some prostitution. Enemies also have h attack cutins for different body parts and these are even replayable in the gallery. Scenes work in chains, which means they share idea and cgs for that series of events.

The game uses sound effects and simple animations to add some nice effects to the scenes. Rifi is the only girl in h scenes in the game, with men that are at least drawn with some variety compared to some other RPG Maker games. The lengths are fine, not overly long and some short ones. Overall the scenes are good.

The game uses mostly generic RPG Maker fair, with floating text boxes. It also has a text skip(CTRL) feature.

The game is alright, but I hate the final portion. The game has to give you a 5 times xp accessory to help you farm to stand a chance against the last boss who does way to much damage and has 10,000 times the health of the next strongest enemy. Other then everything to do with the last boss if your not a virgin, the game is good. It stays a decent difficulty throughout, and you have plenty of options of how to fight after a short while into the game. I enjoyed the almost sandbox nature of the game, making small progress into the fields each time I went out, and eventually getting free reign  as nothing wanted to fight me. It’s not the best or great, but it’s enjoyable. Not horribly long, but the last boss is a cheat out of nowhere and is easily the worst part of the game.

Save contains full gallery, and a save standing in it. If you start a new game you can import my finished games stats. The scenes have varied text based on lust and virginity, my save only has a virgin Rifi.
