For this post I figured I would cover both of these at once, seeing as they are from the same creator and I’m playing them back to back. The post will cover CVC, then Salvation and my thoughts on the games.

So these are both RPG Maker VXAce games from the circle Clymenia. In one you play as a brand new super heroine who can sleep her way to profits, in the other you are a trio of girls off to stop the Demon’ Lord’s resurrection.

Edit: Another game from this group finished not two days after I posted this, so I am just adding it.

 

Story-CVC

You play as a recently deceased but reborn again girl. Thanks to a new mineral, you were brought back to life as a magical girl and to repay the people who saved you(and to pay them back, and to get the gem out of you) you go off to fight Wicked Light. Wicked Light is apparently a terrorist group who have beaten the cops so badly that civilian hero companies are a common thing. Anyway, if you get the good ending you beat the Japan branch of Wicked Light and the game mentions the other forces and then ends.

It’s a throwaway story. There’s no real plot that happens, and the little that does is just fetish stuff. You just beat up bad guys or they rape you.

Gameplay

You fight in this RPG by running into guys and they get pushed back, with both of you taking damage. Unless its a boss which gets a standard RPG combat style. It’s all really simple stuff. Its all the other things that give this game some uniqueness.

In order to get stronger, you need to spend money. A lot of it and then you need to pay for factory upkeep which goes up as you raise the level limit of your attack power. To balance this you need investments from companies which you with fame. Fame is gotten from defeating enemies, with more fame gotten if you have a camera crew following you around.

Basically, the game has enough complexity for you to need to think, especially because it only gives you 52 “turns” to beat it on a run. Fail and get a bad ending and then NG+ to go for the gold.

Last thing, there is no see able corruption stat. After losing enough times the doctor can upgrade the heroine so that she feels less pain, and in turn feels more pleasure which is how the other enemy scenes get unlocked. This pain reduction thing does nothing else.

H-Scenes and other stuff

The porn content is kinda what you would expect. You get raped if you lose in battle, with your character going along with it more and more as you get her pain reductions. If you bring one of the camera crews and lose, they will even comment on the loss(making the scenes a bit longer) and you will lose fame. The scenes are of an alright length, mostly on the shorter side.

H content is prostitution, rape, and things that go along with those. As for other stuff, normal RPG affair.

Story-Salvation

You play as a trio of girls sent out to find out why the seal on the Demon Lord is weakening, but are quickly defeated by a random demon. After being saved by a nudist colony, you find the Goddess of Love who powers you up and will give you more power the more you get men to desire the characters(aka sex). The girls then go off to meet all the heroes maintaining the seal and deal with issues in each corner of the land.

Other the said issues, the game is very short feeling. You will probably spend more time hunting h scenes then fighting or advancing. The story just serves as a reason for the trip to all the areas.

Gameplay

Its a basic rpg maker combat style, with instead of random encounters you have tile based dungeon maps. Enemies are plastered onto the map so you know when you will get into a fight, and a lot of the fights are optional. Most enemies tend to guard chests more then progression. Enemies give big payouts for fighting so it is worth fighting a decent number so you can afford upgrades and keep a good level.

The main gimmick for this game is the class system. Each girl gets a defensive and offensive class which gives them different movesets and all the classes’ improve(and get less clothing) by giving tributes to the Goddess. Tributes are gotten from h scenes, meaning you get an actual benefit from sex in this game. You can also choose at any time to go back to a previous class level or to the other class for that character by an option in the menu, which is convenient.

The h is probably my biggest complaint, and by that I mean finding it. H Scenes are triggered by 1. Being the right character. 2. Wearing the right class outfit and being the right class level. 3. Finding the right NPC to talk to. This isn’t hard, but a lot of scenes don’t open up until you are level 3 or 4, and this means grinding scenes for class ups. Thankfully there is a skip text button, but you have to sleep between scenes so you have to see the scene, run to the inn, then run back to the scene tunil you get enough tributes. Its just annoying enough to be a pain.

H Scenes and other stuff

Each of the three girls has very specific fetishes, and some of their scenes reflect these. The blonde girl is a masochist, she enjoys being degraded. The catgirl is an exhibitionist and has a smell fetish. The busty dark elf likes shota’s and having her ass done. Each of the girls have a chain of h events in every city that use those above fetishes. You of course also have rape, but the girls will always enjoy themselves by the end. So I guess you could say the game has degeneration in that the girls all come to love sex, but it isn’t done through getting them just raped a bunch.

My second biggest issue with the game is the number of unique cgs. Each of the four h events the girls have in each city is given proper cgs, but for the many mini-events you just get cutins that are copy and pasted between the girls. Its kind of disappointing. Overall I like the art, the game has sex sound effects, and the writing is on the shorter side for most scenes.

Story-The Nobleman’s Retort

You are a noble’s son, with dead parents. You moved into your uncles house, but your aunt wants you gone so her daughter can inherit the position form your uncle. There is also a demon afoot.

So the day you are sent away from the mansion so your uncle can convince your aunt, you meet the demon. She gives you the ability to hypnotize people  and you go about getting revenge on your aunt and making live for yourself pretty easy.

Gameplay

The game has basic RPG Maker combat, you never have to fight. You can send out hypnotized adventurers to gather stuff for you so you can focus on just seeing all the the scenes with the games two main girls. Why would you want to send out those adventurer’s? Because each dungeon has a crystal at the end that gives you a level up in your hypnotism skill. The higher the skill, the more scenes you can do.

So you basically spend each in game day sending out your adventurer’s you can hypnotize with your current level, seeing any h scenes you can, and then repeat until the game is done. It works as a pron game but gameplay wise is pretty boring.

H and other stuff

Let me start by saying the town’s tile set is pretty good looking. Sadly the dungeons look horrible, but everything else, including the music, fits the town ‘s look quite well.

Anyway, the h is focused on different hypnotism plays. You have stuff like convincing girls to walk around naked, that sex is a greeting, to having the aunt sleeping with vagrants thinking she is getting paid, to her going to a party mostly naked and getting fingered by everyone as a greeting and thinking nothing is wrong. I will state that the final set of scenes(the top row in the gallery) has your character acting like even more a dick, sending out a group of virgin girls after having them use candlesticks to break their hymens to have have sex with the village, or taking a newlyweds virginity right in front of her husband without using his hypnotism at all. It gets pretty bad later on. Most scenes are medium length, usually a bit shorter then what I would consider average. This is fine since you will be getting scenes literally back to back, all with their own cgs. Overall better in this department then the other two games in this post, which is fitting since the gameplay is the worst of the three.

Final Verdicts and saves

I couldn’t make myself finish CVC. The combat was boring and the story was non existent. The only thing it really had was the time management system, and I didn’t really feel any fun from it. Probably because half my time was spent losing fights for h scenes. I have gotten really tired of that as a mechanic, its just so wrong from a game design viewpoint to incentive losing fights that I just can’t like it. Basically I found the whole game boring.

I thought Salvation would be a bland rape simulator like CVC but I was wrong. Its a basic game overall, but at least it gave me a reason to look for h scenes, even if it was a bit grindy with those. My only real problem with Salvation was finding scenes was a pain, but the devs put in a way to get around that so I could 100% without cheating so I don’t really feel I can truly complain, they even put in a way to choose good end or bad so I could pick the ending I wanted which was nice. Its short and can be challenging or easy depending on how much h you see, and overall I felt it was a fine distraction of a game.

Nobleman’s was a decent fap, but has little else to offer. The combat is worthless and actually should be ignored, leading to a game that really is just about its porn, and that is fine. It uses its theme decently and covers a lot of stuff, though I have to ask something about the mid control fetish altogether. Why do people with mind control powers have their targets sleep around? Like in TNR I understand why the MC has the aunt sleep with vagrants, but why does he have the nun do it without ever sleeping with her himself? Why use mind control to get other people laid without ever getting laid yourself, or hell just keeping them to yourself? Anyway, its decent but not amazing in any way. Also is the first game I’ve played that focused on mind control, making it one of like three games in English with the theme central to its porn.

 

Saves have all h scenes/replay events unlocked. In Salvation all class levels unlocked, which means all outfits.
