FOXEye is a doujin circle of a single person I found out about just looking around the net. He’s one of those people I just respect because he looked at what was being made, found that no one was making what he liked, and made it himself for himself and like minded people. What does he like? Women doing things underwater. Swimming, exploring, lazying about, and of all thingd drowning. That last one is something I can definitely understand people not liking, so I feel I need to note it. Drowning and sexy are not usually things people like to combine. From what I experienced here, he tends to up the barbie doll like nudity(the few times a full boob is shown there is no nipple) as he ups how frantic and out of air the girls are. Each game has at least one set of images that do this, though for people who just want sexy there are far more that have nothing to do with drowning.
Every Christmas Eve for 5 years straight, FOXEye put up a new short game for a single day. On the sixth year, he redid the art for those games and released them in a bundle and that’s what this is. These include both the xmas version and the new art version, and both need to be beaten to get all the art unlocks. Or you can open the manual and put in a code from there to skip playing. I didn’t do that. So I played this minigame collection, twice each to completion.
Let’s Practice, Takahara-san!
Point and click is what this is listed as. It’s a clicker of sorts. It’s also the most boring of the game in the collection, which is unsurprising I guess. It is the first one that was made.
So you start and click dive. Takahara goes under. Five fish can show up, and as the player these are all you really care about. Takahara is only important as a time limit, if she drowns your reward is halved. There is no meter, she just freaks when she is around halfway to drowning. At that point, you click on return and you get a score based on the multiplayer and your actual fish score. Multiplier is based on how long she was at the bottom of the area.
The fish is where the majority of the game is. There are two piranha which are just points. Then you have the shark, which costs you 20% of your points, kills the angler-fish when clicked on and blocks its ability, and Takahara will not go up if there is a shark. Then you have shrimp, which cost 10% of your points and make sharks more likely to show up. Finally the angler-fish. Clicking an angler-fish multiplies any piranhas scores by 10 and gets rid of all of them on screen. Fish do not leave the screen until you click on them, so you basically kill sharks and shrimp until you have a big haul of piranha and an angler-fish. Bank them and hope you don’t get a lot of shrimp or sharks until the end of that dive.
Takahara can stay underwater longer as she levels, which is based solely on how long she has been underwater and at what depth. Until she reaches 11 you will not get a multiplier high enough to afford the only actual goal, the images. Once you hit 11 then the game just finally flows to the end really quickly.
What the above amounts to is a lot of waiting until you can start actually banking points. You are always making money since even drowning only costs you half your made money and xp on that run. This game also is the one that most mixes drowning and ecchi, with both progressing as you proceed in the four images 4 variations.
Save has both versions set for the end. All images bought/unlocked.
Slide Loop Puzzle
Three(technically 6 because of the remade version) slide puzzles. Completing the puzzles unlocks the image in the gallery and a short story to go with the cg. Both are unlocked using the unlock code for the gallery, so of all the games this is the least important to actually play for anything.
Each puzzle adds another column to increase the difficulty. You slide either the entire row or column, and it loops back to the other side. Not much else to say. there’s a reason I tend to avoid super simple puzzles games here, there’s not a lot to say about them.
Save has all the puzzles completed in both versions.
At Night in a Party!
A much better puzzle game. It’s a 4*5 area of block puzzles with some light metroidvania elements. It takes about an hour or two to beat. Every time you move you lose air and the main difficulty is having enough air to navigate the room and get the battery block where it needs to be to open the doors. The game has 4 endings, based on how many of the progress items you have.
Unlike the other games, the cgs are not just a few and a bunch of variations. The cgs are used for the story instead of just rewards so there is a less degree of them just existing for fanservice and the drowning isn’t really used for ecchi. This does lead to them being less sexy focused though in exchange this one actually tells a story.
Save has all endings and images unlocked.
Natica and Sandy Underwater Rescue
A tower defense game of sorts. You play as Natica, and Sandy is tied to a ball and chain that sinks to the bottom of whatever level you are in. Both girls have oxygen meters, and you lose if either meter runs out. Sandy also has a timer that depicts how long before she breaks the handcuffs or whatever is actually connecting her to the ball.
So you can do 4 things. Move around, attack, give Sandy air via kiss, and rush the clock by fiddling with the ball. You need to surface every once in a while to get your own air meter filled, then go down and fill up Sandy. During this, fish attack Sandy. Piranhas and Sharks, that oddly enough only seem to be tickling her. You can back attack the fish for extra damage or just stab them in the face. Killing them gets you xp with which you can get a few skills that make the game easier by a lot. Game has 4 areas with 3 levels each. You get an image on each clear , with each area’s images just the girls getting more nude. If you beat the game in its hard mode you get an extra image.
Only the first stage or two are really hard, at least for me. Once you start getting upgrades the rest of the game falls into place, and until the final stage doesn’t really change. The last stage introduces currents and a long hallway to reach Sandy, so you need to time your oxygen refills to the level. It’s not hard so much as different.
This is probably the best game of the five. Short but long enough for an afternoon, tense enough to keep interest, and losing resets your progress(unless you play easy, then you keep your xp). Both versions of the art are good too, on account of this being made only a year or two before the remade art.
Save for this has all cgs unlocked and both versions have all levels available in the hard mode.
Natica Star Splash!
Take the controls from Underwater Rescue, throw out the spear, and make the game a puzzly type action game. The goal is to get all the stars underwater and get to the surface. Each mission has two other goals, almost all of which is get a high score which require skills and combo’s to get. Kinda like a mobile game without asking you to spend 100 dollars a minute to make progress..
Basically, you start the game really bad and can just only get all the stars for the basic medal on each stage. After 5-10 of the game’s 16 stages you can start to get some skills that will help you get some of the other missions/medals in the other stages. Soon enough you can get any medal you want as you recognize which skills a level needs and modify your set to match that level. I find the game pretty addicting actually, though it’s only about an hour and a half long.
Artwise, you unlock one image by beating a row of levels, and basically a nude variation for 3 medaling at least 3 stages in a row. I just got all the medals so the saves can play around with all the skills.
