Story

So Monmusu Park is a park with a bunch of monster girls. One day, as Alice(the rabbit girl) gets ready for a tea party, the park is attacked and the monsters are turned into candy monsters. A carrot shows up and gives Alice a carrot to ride on and she goes out to stop the attack. Turns out its pirates from the Carrot Kingdom. The Princess didn’t like carrots and the carrot thing decided to teach her the joy of carrots by… You know. Sticking himself in. He failed and fails again here, which is when he explains this.

So you are the good guy helping a bad guy stop the bad guys because they kind of killed your friends. You do this by shooting your friends candy corpses and then helping the carrot get into the girls. That’s a plot…

Gameplay

It’s a schmup. How the hell did they make a schmup in RPG Maker? Why the hell does this work? Is there a bunch of these in Japan? Or, more importantly, why the hell in RPG Maker!?

Okay… so this is a bit more RPG then most shoot’em ups. You have hearts for hit points which go up as you find heart containers, one per level and 6 buyable in the hub. You also can pick up money during levels to buy that health, new shot types, or options in the h scenes.

There’s 11 levels and they are fairly varied. Usually the first screen exists to let you build up your star level which is your power. This goes down as you get hit and goes up as you find stars. The second map of each level is usually the gimmick part. From being chased by a giant, to an actual maze, to a secret speed test, they did a decent job of varying the levels.

Being honest, things happen to fast for me in this. Some shots are just impossible to see coming, others are too clustered to dodge. There’s a slow down for your player but I still didn’t feel like I had precise movement and I think the hit box is bigger then most schmups. The game works because of the hearts and being able to buy healing items and such, which just makes the entire affair feel very unique but not in a good way. It’s like they created the game, realized it didn’t play fair and threw in a bunch of things to stack the player higher without addressing the problem.

H and Other stuff

Pixel sex stuff that would be good, if the “male” wasn’t a cyclops carrot floating about with his two pals. Honestly, tentacles would probably have been better then carrots and creepy giant tongues.

Each of the 12 girls get 4 poses with 5(except 1) animations. There’s actually more, as the girl gets more receptive the more actions you do so the later animations are different.

The boss fights also end in something like sex. You shoot the carrot into their vagina to mimic sex until they climax. It’s a thing that I just can’t. I just can’t.

Verdict

So I realized when doing the sections above that I had to pause and go “what the hell is this” for each section. I think that sums up my thoughts on this.

I have no idea how you go from the prequel game, which was just pixel art battle fuck RPG to this. It boggles my mind.

Also, I’m not good at schmups. I’m not totally horrible but not nearly good. So I played this on normal and had to drop to easy to beat anything. They sell healing items, didn’t use them but if I did I probably could have managed normal a bit more. Until you get like 10 HP I just don’t think the higher difficulties are manageable unless you are amazing at shoot’em ups.
