Castle in the Clouds DX

H Scene Count- 32 main animations, 7 character animations.

Created by pixel Touhoku with Libra Heart artist

Length- 4-6 hours

Newish Librasoft/pixel Touhoku game. I played this last year and had some save issues, so gave up. Came out on Steam with extra content and actually works, so I played it. It was alright.

Story

Our protagonist decides to go through a forest to follow her target, deciding it was the quicker option. Soon she meets a bandit leader and then about 10 minutes later the bandits have their way with our MC. Game over, that was short…

She wakes up in an inn in a town nearby, where she learns the local rich guy had her saved and if she wants to find work she needs to meet with him. She does, and after he gropes her as a repayment for the permission to work/being saved you are basically free to do as you please. The only guiding plot is the guild quests where some random big girl monster shows up in each region for you to metriodvania to death. You can also go get revenge on the bandits. Not that you need to, you just can.

The rich dudes house has probably the most main plot, as it contains a few books and some statues needed for the Castle in the Sky to appear. The servants also mention the rich dude looking for the riches from the castle, but the MC never really talks so it feels more like she just wants some cash then anything. Like there’s not really any aim to the story for a lot of it.

Gameplay

Pretty standard metroidvania kind of game. Most of the upgrades are pretty standard, except for the wall and roof climb letting you move basically everywhere that isn’t spikes. A couple of weapon options, though the axe is required for progression for some reason. There’s just one dungeon where you need it to get in.

Anyway, you take guild missions and go out to the dungeon. They aren’t connected at all, and you should never need to go back into a dungeon. They tend to have everything you need in them, making the metriodvania element kind of weird. There is no early progress and no needing to go back, except for maybe the haunted ship which I had a room I never figured out.

Leveling is done at the inn where you put points into stats, the game explains them just fine. As you use the inn they add new rooms which get you stat up items and your money back the first time you use them. It’s kind of a weird money check.

As for lewd gameplay stuff… Some enemies have hearts over their heads. Touching them gives you an animation, after which you get a lust point. There’s also chests with succubi in them who throw a curse that ends with the main character also getting a lust point. 10 are needed for prostitution and I don’t think they do anything else. Oh, and the girl explodes when she gets a point, hurting everything on screen.

After beating the game you get a cheat room at the start of the game. Two of the cheats are new characters you can switch between. One is the thief from the intro. She is invincible while in the air and kind of buzzsaws. She is also just faster so she was the most fun I had. The other is a soldier who is a main character from another game, she throws energy when she swings and I think hurts things when she jumps. Neither can benefit from the unique animation upgrades.

H and Other stuff

Good old Libra Hearts animations. Good quality, busty girls, mix of different actions and partners. It’s good if you like the other games they/him have made. Really wish sound effects would play in the gallery though, not having voices kinda kills the point to the animations.

The DX version, which is just the Steam rerelease, adds in an extra dungeon after which all the NPCs get some scenes. It pads out the count but is a nice extra. It also adds two other playable characters on NG+, the thief from the intro and a soldier who I think is the main girl from pixel’s other game. The patch notes on steam mention they get some animations but nothing tells you where they are. Anytime an animation would play you just get the main girl instead.

Verdict

Easy and simple. Not much to say, if you like the other games from these groups its fine. Nothing great, but as usual the animations are good and the gameplay is solid, just not exciting.

Do note, I only think I have everything. The devs mentioned secret scenes for the bonus girls which I have no idea how to find and there is no space in the gallery for them. I also only got the bad end since nothing gallery wise is tied to endings or dungeon progress. I got a second save to the bonus area and the final dungeon so that if it ever comes out where they are I have quick access to them.

Save for Castle in the Clouds DX

Contains- Save 1 is endgame original run. Save 3 is at final dungeon for bonus scenes for NG+ characters, though no idea where they would be if they actually exist. Gallery is fully unlocked.

  1. Heyya Father Jikorde~
I’m back~ How ya doin? Hope ya been well and in great shape. Thanks for the help before btw, been playing that and other games. And while at that, found some recommend for ya! And requests if I may add hehe. Hope you interested!

So got three titles here. All are rpgm, vxace to be precise, hope old engine doesn’t bother you. I’ll try to describe some point of interest as little as possible to not spoil em.

First is That Time I Got Reincarnated as an Orc.
This one is.. refreshing. It felt like you playing vn but adapted into rpgm engine, in a slight rpg gimmick game. And holy damn dancing Maria they really did a good job. Idk what’s more to add except it’s amusing imo. Highly recommended.

Second, might be both recommend and request, Sphilia’s Familiar.
Can’t tell you much tbh, coz haven’t played it that long. As far as I know that this game is actually pretty beautiful and decent designed, AND this game updated into ver 2 where they add ntr route after you finish the first gameplay.. that’s where the request at, I can’t handle ntr but I don’t want to miss the art T^T

    The third is..
7 girls wars.. This one are from Kagura, so I thought it would give it some high expectation.. and it did, in one way or another i guess. The game let you do which order or some routes you want to with some limitations. I hope you’re not confused, the storyline progress with quests, and some quests wont open without doing the others first or the other way around. And I kid you not, there’s a lot of searching. This game focused on it’s character development story (pretty much entertaining harem story) with decent rpgm gimmick game. I only got the normal ending, coz I’m not that good with long hours game =w=” (thanks for Fate save file btw, really helpful)

Well that’s it, again it’s vxace, If you actually have some preference in rpgm, wether it’s the genre or some specific traits that they’re Not in your homepage, please let me know. And if you happen to not interested in any of them, no hard feeling mate, everyone got their own tastes. ꉂ(ˊᗜˋ*)

Oh oh, do you happen to know If you have or know where to find the full save of
    – please let me know. Again, its ntr yet but nice art and story, yet I still can’t handle it hehe ^^;

    Anyway
Godspeed, stay safe, have a nice day dude!

    • *the full save of… Sorry I forgot the title and I lost the list.. I’ll ask you later if I remember it..

    • Engine doesn’t mean much to me, if anything RPG Maker is the easiest to deal with if the game has bad or annoying design since opening those up to fix or edit is so easy. I also like seeing what people do with RPG Maker from basic design to converting the engine into genres it really shouldn’t be in, like schmup or beat’em ups.

I don’t like NTR much at all either, but I’ll look into the games. I think 7 Girls was something I had my eye on, but I forget why I ignored it… Any of those are going to have to wait for a bit though, next up for me is a VN then Suzukari Karin to close out the year on something I’ve been very curious about.

Have a great day and stay safe.
