Pixel platformer with some hack and slash elements. H is not pixel animation, it’s just images for the most part.

Story

I think this had something to say. The intro paragraphs on load up definitely sound philosophy esque. The actual story is odd.

So our main girl has been falling asleep and having nightmares a lot. One day she falls asleep and finds Dreamcutter, a scythe with some intelligence. The scythe demands obedience and basically tells her to do things to get her to to reshape her personality and wake up. I think the writers were going for drill sergeant? Kind of came across as abusive boyfriend or maybe last chance friend. It’s all in the heroine’s head so she’s reprimanding herself cause she is the scythe. And the enemies. And everything else. This is all in her head.

Maybe the point went over my head?

Gameplay

A decently well flowing platformer with hack and slash elements. You can build combo chains that reward coins and speed up your basic movement, which I found an odd design but felt good to play.

You have a fairly limited moveset. Run, jump, slash. You get a glide at the start of world 2, and can buy a jump attack that I found hard to use.

The levels start fairly standard but in the last 25% of the game they really start screwing around with design because of the story. Enemy gauntlets, enemy free areas, it just gets weird. It just so happens this is also when my game starting running 20% slower which I think wasn’t on purpose but the timing meant I didn’t realize it was wrong until almost the end of the game. Made the boss rush way easier at least.

Biggest complaint is that some jump sections were just slightly too tall and needed an extra jump. It breaks the flow and felt off.

A weird thing with the shop. It has two sections, with the right one being challenges. Buying these challenges and then doing them unlocks a cg in the gallery, so they are basically your sidequests. They come in three flavors and are fine. It’s just weird that you need to buy them then do the challenge to get the reward, doing it the other way doesn’t work.

H and Other stuff

It’s mostly just images. The challenges unlock single images that are basically fanart. The bottom row of the gallery is the story scenes, which are a mixed bag. H Scene 1 is 3 cgs, intro and outro text and nothing else. The last scene has a bunch of in sex narration. Most of the sex is girl on girl.

The art style is inconsistent. The first h scene her curves are fairly bland, but the intro with her getting the scythe gives our main girl a huge ass and the shop even uses a similar figure. It’s a dream so it’s fine, but it is a bit weird how her body shape is all over the place. The only consistent stuff is hair color and style.

Verdict

I needed something like this. No long cutscenes, no bullshit. Platformers are always good at helping get out of funks for me.

Its an okay game, a decent afternoon really. Don’t play it for porn though, that element is not the focus at all.
