Stats and Rambling

I won’t be surprised if that turns out to be a game name one day. Might already be one. Games get the weirdest titles…

Anyway, Death end is taking longer then expected due to all the guides lying to me, so I figured I’d do a post just to release something and it just so happens I did a thing 1.5 years ago. That’s when I switched from mega back to Mediafire for the saves, because I like to see download numbers. That’s the only reason. It’s not like I go out of my way to play popular titles… But like seriously I want to like popular things too I just don’t.

So I’m more or less just going to go through a few stats related to that, only focusing on the last 1.5 years. What’s popular mostly. I’m not going to focus to much on when the game actually went up, most save downloads actually happen in the first few weeks with only the biggest games getting real long term download counts, like Demon Roots and Black Souls. Those are some of the most viewed posts on the blog.

As for games, Death end will finish next week, then I’m going to power through Summertime Saga while also playing Daybreak 2 which might go right into the next Atelier. Edit: Skipping Clanpool for now. Stellar Blade in June/July is going to happen day one unless I’m still playing Atelier. That’s the rock solid current plans. I do hope to have more then that, but for now it’ll do. I have no idea if I’ll ever get around to Ryza 3. I doubt it.

Onward to stats! For context I get about 200 visitors a day, with most seeing two posts. Usually they enter via something popular, like Black Souls or Demon Roots, and they visit something else. I do not get 200 downloads a day.

Let’s start with Vn’s. I’ve only put up 20 since I migrated to Mediafire, and the most popular is… Oppai Ero Academy at 120 downloads. 2nd place is Klutzy Cupid at 40. It only sinks from there. I’m not incredibly surprised that a nukige is in first place here, people who want VN saves generally either want to skip forced routes(White Album 2 is actually 3rd place) or just go straight to the porn. The fact it’s the nukige that is basically a gallery when you actually play it is a bit awkward feeling but that’s really just a me thing. Just for reference, Oppai Succubus is 5th place at 28 downloads, though it’s only been up for a few months compared to day 1.

A quick entry is the to-be-updated saves folder, as I basically keep live service/patreon esque h games separate from other saves to make managing things easier. As I delete things as I replace them the numbers aren’t really accurate, but I can say for 100% certain that Spooky Milk Life is the most popular entry here. Every update generally get to 100-200 downloads before I play a new version. On the other hand, Little Man and Milfrim, which get updated more often, actually basically never cross the 15 download mark. Scarlet Maiden is actually in first place right now at 220 downloads, but honestly that’s a finished product at this point and should probably be moved.

A majority of the titles are around 20-30, which in general is better average then the VN page, but there’s only 14 titles and it’s a hodgepodge of a list. It’s also show casing a trend, if the game is on Steam it gets way more attention. This is true across every category I keep, not that it’s surprising at all. Just being on Steam gets more eyes on the title. If your main advertisement is patreon/subscribe star and a few porn sites then you really should try to get on Steam Early Access for attention. It’s so many more possible eyeballs.

Now before I get to the actual core porn game paragraphs, a stop into ecchi. Ecchi is separated by console, with PC currently having 35 saves on Mediafire. The other console options have only 1 or two titles each and while the numbers are actually pretty good(SK Burst is at 43, Fate CCC is at 43, and Magical Girls 1+2 is also at around 43), the lists aren’t long enough to actually write much about. As for the most popular ecchi game on the blog right now via download count?

  1. Shantae Half Genie Hero Ultimate at 143.
  2. Sentimental Death Loop at 138.
  3. Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie at 138.
  4. LiveStream 2 at 134.
  5. Neptunia x Senran Kagura Ninja Wars at 129.

Ignoring games that went up this year, last place is currently Rewrite+ at 17, losing to 3rd Birthday at 18.

So that data says some things. I’m not surprised Reverie is up there, Trails is probably the most popular ecchi thing I actually play when it’s vaguely relevant and since save bonuses are a thing in the series the saves I offer always have some value. Shantae being number 1 is odd to me, especially it being the oldest game I’ve played from the series and also the newest one I’ve actually played. I’d expect Pirate’s Curse, that’s the fan favorite after all. Of course, Half Genie is also the only Mediafire Shantae on the list… I never said this was good data.

Two qureate games being in the top 5 is a good feeling. Death Loop being number 1 over Maids and such is odd to me, but I guess that’s the one people wanted. It’s also the least lewd though and honestly it’s save has some of the lowest value to me.

Ninja Wars is the actual surprise. The 3DS Senran games are at 40 and 20 while this awkward modern entry is in the big leagues. A game I only played to run around as a catgirl. Is it just the combination of two vaguely known titles that make it pop up in search results or was there some weird sudden popularity for the game? I do wonder how it would compare with the rest of the franchise, but those are still on Mega and I don’t want to port everything over if I don’t have to.

And just because I want to point this out, Last Saintess is at 101. It is by far the most popular eTIRUe title I’ve done, though Crawling Lab has been replaced a few times and might have more overall downloads. The rest of the devs games are in the 20-30 range.

Now for the porn games top 5.

  1. Yarimon Master has 858. I think it had 500 before I replaced the original save with the dlc one.
  2. Demon Roots has 331.
  3. Daily Life with My Succubus Boss is at 298.
  4. Solo Leeching is at 248.
  5. Escape from the Room of the Serving Doll is at 228.

After that it falls off hard with only 7 other games being over 100. For the game’s before I went to Mega, so 2016-ish, Noxian Nights is #1 at 50k downloads with next place being in the 7-8k range. I had no idea that save was so popular…

Unsurprisingly this section is generally higher in download counts what with the blog’s name and actual traffic. Roots has really shown itself being far more popular then I expected, most really big games don’t get huge download counts owing to me playing them months if not years late. The rest of the list is just Steam getting eyeballs and being nukige giving them higher billing then most the rest of the saves. Yarimon is just hugely popular.

As a sidenote, any game that isn’t anime or render tend to get pretty poor numbers. Korvald, Helga, Under the Hood, Marble Maid are only at 20~ each and those took way more effort then Serving Doll. Welcome to Paradise Island also got a pretty poor reception even though it hits all the boxes for popular stuff, so maybe a game having an easy full gallery unlocker is a detriment to download counts and attention. Not surprising but I didn’t have anything to actually back up that statement before.

Final quick stat thing is from the curation list I made for fanservice stuff over on Steam. Steam tracks how often the curator reviews are clicked on by followers, according to Steam at least. Kraken City is actually the highest viewed at 1391 as of today, with #2 being Kamikaze Lassplanes at 749.

As for stats on views on the blog? WordPress changed how it presents the posts and got rid of at a glance post views, so it’s too annoying to gather that info now. Not bothering with that.

That’s all folks. Maybe I’ll do this again in a year or so, probably closer to the new year so it makes more sense.
