[Ecchi- X360] Blazblue Continuum Shift Extend

Game 2. Played on 360 emulation because the Steam version runs terribly on all of my machines. The emulator ran it better.

Honest opinion? It’s just the first game again but with a little more. Same location. The story isn’t really all that different with a majority of the cast trying to get to the same spot in the town. Just a few new characters. The series could have started with this game and I don’t think it would have changed much.

Story- 6

So starting right after the true end of the first game, Terumi shows his true colors and Ragna gets owned. Terumi leaves since he doesn’t want to fight the vampire and Ragna, and then everyone teleports away. This is when all the characters stories start.

Generally everyone advances their arc from the first game, but now we have a new villain in Relius, which helps a lot. If everyone once again ended fighting Terumi it would get annoying, the game needed another top tier villain. Anyway, stopping Terumi’s plan is the core plan for the main good guys. We also have about 8 new characters though none of them really add new plotlines, just add to old characters ones. Like Noel gets her two friends and their plots revolve around their relationship.

The game ends by setting up the next game in the ninja country and I can’t wait. I’m sick of this tower town. Bad guys are 100% currently winning by the way.

Each character has a story, and each story has 3 endings. Their true end, a weird side end that leads to ask the professor what they did wrong segment, and their gag reel. A comedy bit that varies a lot in length but they break lore, character, story, and walls as they please. They are hilarious and usually the best part of the storylines. Probably because they have to tell complete stories, jokes or not, rather then the bad end everything else ends on.

Gameplay-6

Just going to mention notable stuff for me, I can’t tell you anything about nerfs or buffs.

The completionists first will notice the account level. Basically all game content earns you points that are both money and an xp to level your account. Account level is tied to letting you buy cgs, the only other thing to do with money is spend to get buffs in labyrinth mode, a tower dungeon thing I suck at and barely touched. Playing it unlocks more buffs to buy, no cgs or story content is connected to it.

Next thing I noticed is stylish mode. Basically the game lets you pick a playstyle where it combo’s for you. While it makes the game look cooler and probably made me feel cool for a bit, then I realized I had no idea how to do anything. I feel like it made my fighting game skills worse? The issue with these easy play modes is they don’t actually make players better across the genre at all. That’s how I feel at least.

100% story routes is easier. Just get the 3 endings per character, no more see every line of dialogue. Much easier.

That’s about all I remember they changed.

Lewdness- 5

Same idea as before, but more. 4 new girls, 1 big, 1 medium, 1 more Noel shaped, and a kid. Some of the special illustrations even have variations with less clothing. The game has like double the amount of sexy cgs, part of which is owed to having Makoto. The underboob squirrel girl who is currently the second biggest bust of the cast. Her and Litchi are treated as sex symbols in plenty of the gag reel ends and have a decent amount of swimsuit and sexy cgs you can unlock. Noel’s butt is not yet showing up a lot, though some ends do have Noel basically nude and her butt given a focus shot. It’s not really sexy, but it is starting the trend.

It helps that the entire cg gallery can be unlocked this time.

Final Thoughts

I feel like the first game can be safely skipped? This one explains enough of it and goes over a lot of the lore and backstory you need. A lot of the foreshadowing for the future is repeated again and only a few things from one actually get paid off story wise. The fact the core story is Ragna climbing the town again to fight Terumi again to break the time loop really makes it feel like a repeat with slightly more of everything.

My opinion on the actual gameplay is it works. I like how different characters feel, but stylish mode made me feel like I never learned how to play them. It looks cooler I guess.

Way more boobs. This one is actually an ecchi game unlike the previous one. Not a full to the brim one, but it’s taking steps in that direction.

Xbox 360 Save for Blazblue Continuum Shift Extend

Image gallery is full and all story content unlocked. Labyrinth mode wasn’t touched, I tried but I’m just terrible and figured out quickly it wasn’t worth playing.

Gameplay: 6/10 Eroticness: 5/10 Story: 6/10

Completion:

Reach account level 20, so 4 hours or so of farming versus fights plus all of arcade mode and story mode. That unlocks everything.
