Decembers theme is demons. Yep. Mainly succubi, but I needed a few more options for ecchi and possibly visual novels that aren’t nukige, so demons.
It was a toss up for either demons or yuri, and I had more demon related games I wanted to clean from my backlog. There’s also an avalanche of moege + some indie stuff coming out I will be playing.
Edit 12/22-
So January is basically already planned out, with isekai as the theme. Hatsumira as one of the only non nukige visual novels with isekai, two Orcsoft isekai nukige, an 18+ game, and maybe Conception 1 depending on time. Thing is, Trails into Horizon comes out like halfway through the month and that’s a big release for me. Everything other then nukige will likely take a back seat at that point.
Edit 12/28- Final update of the year. The actual January post will go up when a game finishes for it, though I’ll probably put up a New Year’s post looking back on the year between now and then.
18+ Game
Demon’s Sperm– Fullflap 2d Soul’s style game. It’s more of a platformer then a straight combat thing, though you do both plenty. You really only get lewd content when you finish an area and turn in the boss’s remains, otherwise it’s just busty girl running around fighting. It was fine, needed controller support and I’d probably would have enjoyed it.
Edit 12/4 Succubus Forest – Roguelike deckbuilder with pixel art perv content. It’s short and a bit random to unlock everything, but I think I did it. The merchant might have a second variant to unlock? I didn’t want to rerun the whole game hoping on luck to test that. Anyway, I enjoyed it. A lot of deckbuilders are either way to grindy or long, this one was just right. I played only on hard by the way, easy makes it a breeze I imagine. Bit weird that beating the game didn’t unlock anything, meeting the final boss is the farthest you have to get.
Edit 12/22- VS Oppai Succubus Enano Edition– A single boss fight deck builder? You pick some relics aka equipment that decides your skills and the game random picks from your whole list until you win or lose. So the prep is the key to the game. It’s interesting at first, boring when you are speeding through fights to see if your new build was enough or just winning for the sake of it. Save has everything except one sellable item in the item list, and the non base save is a version the translator made that adds the updated game’s scene(cheerleader cosplay) to the game. Beyond the boss fight, it’s 100% a paizuri game with a bratty succubus. It does weirdly end with a romance though.
Ecchi
Edit 12/4- Gal Guardians: Demon Purge – A call back to the original Castlevania with some -vania level design stuff thrown in and that annoying knockback. Only 2 parts of the game were really hard, the rest was mostly a bit repetitive as you basically need to replay each level 3 times to get everything. No cg gallery so I made sure to setup a bunch of achievements were easy to get with the save. All endings should be available to get. Overall it wasn’t bad but it’s only barely in the spirit of Gal Gun, in fact it’s really not an ecchi game it’s only under this banner since it’s related to Gal Gun.
Edit 12/15- Queen’s Loyalty – A save to a finished game, not much to do other then play as all the girls for a bit(a scene replayer was added the day after I wrote this, though the only scenes really worth watching are the summon and girl ending scenes). The game is basically a single player Korean MMO, lots of grinding very simple enemies. It’s not mindless since ranged enemies will tear you apart, but generally it gets old very fast. Most story progress bits are locked by kill 100 enemies quests, it could have been worse but it’s still just very grindy. It works, but there’s not much here other then hot girls.
Visual Novel
Edit- 12/10- Iku Iku Succubus– This might be my least liked Orcsoft thing so far? Mainly because you are in the head of an actually unlikeable guy. Unless you pursue the tanned succubus, he’s kind of a jerk at best. On the other hand, the game has some good body variety like an actual chubby girl and not a girl the game calls chubby but isn’t even vaguely chubby. Anyway, the real plot was kind of interesting and I liked that Lima was basically always beating the main dude, but I just don’t like being in the head of the perv teacher..
Edit- 12/15- Marshmallow Imouto Succubus– Decent. I wish Saki’s voice actor had been better? I didn’t like her much for the role, though the innocent voice with the succubus acts is just a fetish I don’t have. It does feel like you could remove the Succubus stuff for a parasite or mind control or possession and the plot wouldn’t really change…
Also included saves for Everyone Wants My Girl and My Life as a Cult Leader. These are the two official Orcsoft releases I had no intent to play, so I skipped through them as something of an early Christmas bonus. For the first one, I don’t care for NTR. For the second, creating a harem then sharing your girls is just not for me. Cult does have an interesting premise though. It’s just not for me.
Edit 12/28- Succubus Sessions: Mami Mamiya’s Sweet Slice of Hell – One of those episodic heroine release things, though one with some interesting stuff going for it. The main guy is recruited into a Succubus village as he has a lot of life force. His job? Get the girls used to guys so they can find guys without killing them. This episodic release is a linear story and only episode 1 of 3 is out, and the other two don’t seem to be coming. Which kind of sucks, this one ends on a cliffhanger. What story it has is interesting and it really uses the succubi nature stuff a lot, I also like the heroine thoughts during intercourse bit even if her thoughts felt very basic at times. Mami is a decent heroine for a first entry, not as boring as most episodic sets tend to be as her yandere succubus side peeks out pretty often.
Unthemed-
Edit 12/5- Homesweet Homecoming– A very safe VN. It’s basically Furereba but calmer. You start with 7 girls you are basically on friendly terms with after moving back to Japan and rush a relationship before summer break. The most annoying issue for me was that the 3 sub heroines all had way more interesting ideas then the 4 main ones. I really want a bodyguard’ed heroine where you get chummy with the guard and win over the girl alongside/after. The closest to that would be Rewrite with the butler. The Medusa thing with Rin was also hilarious in concept but went nowhere. Erina was the safest, calmest teacher route ever. Those three would make for a way more interesting VN then childhood lazy friend, goody good girl pres, energetic senior, and shy sports girl. They weren’t bad, but the sub heroines were just way more interesting in concept then the 4 main ones.
Edit 12/4- Pocket Sweeties 1(V1.6.4) + 2(V1.0.3)– Something I felt like doing. Short clicker with some puzzle content to unlock everything. 2 is 3d and really early content wise, 1 is basically done.’
Edit 12/14- Koikari- Love for Hire + After Hours– Finished the fandisc… Tsubaki and Emi are fun. The twins are silly and work really well to add chaos, but as heroines they aren’t really interesting. I really don’t care for Hasumi, though it was a bold choice to have Emi see Hasumi and protag banging in Hasumi’s after story. In general After Hours is just more fun, though I would have preferred solid Saki/Momoka routes over after stories. Love for Hire in general is my favorite Asa Project VN to date. It’s also just a better version of Rental Girlfriend. It actually goes somewhere, there is actual chemistry between all the characters, and it’s funny.
Edit 12/25- Princess Loves Goblin– A puzzle game of sorts. Every move shifts the NPC’s, and you are trying to sneak into the Princess’ room for a night of fun. You have a time limit and the first few runs will be just learning the way to get through screens. Once you reach the Princess the timer ticks down to 0 and you probably don’t have her entire gallery since there wasn’t enough time for them to frolic under the sheets enough. You basically need an almost perfect run to get the entire gallery. Then find the other two girls and do the same for them. It’s pretty short, was a decent hour or so.
Edit 12/28- Pixel Call Girls– This doesn’t really fit anything other then VN, though it really isn’t a novel either. It’s a sprite h scene gallery with few steps. It does have some interesting design stuff, with the core game being more of a platform. So for example, currently Rei and Sana are completely separate characters in the game. If you download just 1.1.2 you get only Sana, but if you drag Rei’s files from her version into the current one with Sana, you get both as options. Currently it’s only those two and they are both Touhou girls, no idea where this will go but I like how it’s designed.
November Nut Burst
I’m trying to be silly, but I kind of cringe at that title… Anyway, all the 18+ stuff I finished in November-
Busty Ninjas– Parody RPG Maker game, focused on Sakura and Hinata of ninja fame though all kinds of characters how up. Save is in the bonus room, but all three towns have content not found in the gallery. There’s a lot. It’s a short nukige esque romp with a somewhat high difficulty.
One Pump Chump V1.0– The game is “done”(got updated like a few days later, I’m not caught up with that yet), so I finished it. Superbosses were fun. Kind of wish Fubuki got a bit more content. overall a pleasant and unique idea.
Amairo Chocolate 3– It’s basically a nukige with two moege routes attached. This is because they added 3 h scenes to each heroine from the previous games along with super short after stories, giving them 6 total h scenes in the series each. Kohana is the new heroine, she basically fills in a bunch of lore stuff while being the silly lord type. She’s also the only shortstack. AmaIro was decently fun overall, wouldn’t mind more stories in the setting with more beastfolk types and other non human stuff.
Funbag Fantasy 4 -Brother Astor- Funbag is such a fun series. 4 is the best entry, Astor is the best protag of the four game so far. He actually gets mad! That shouldn’t be a praiseworthy trait, but Lute and Julianas and I think Ruin just float through a lot of their adventures. Astor doesn’t rely on supernatural powers, he plans and takes actions when called for and in general is great. There’s still a lot of silly over the top luck in how he wins, but it’s not done through magic, just Astor rolling with and making the best of the situations. I wish I had time for the gacha game on Erolabs, but I don’t. Apparently it’s actually another entry in the series writing wise instead of a tacked on money machine like most of these types.
