Rance 01 is the complete remake of Rance 1, the very old adventure game that started one of the longest running RPG series in the world.
For the most part, 01 just brings the lore into place that was just wonky in 1 while expanding some of the character stories and making the combat more interesting. From memory there’s only two completely new sections of the story. Still, they took an 1:30 hour game into something closer to 10.

Rance 02 ~The Rebellious Maidens~
Rance 02 is a graphical upgraded version of Rance 2, with the only other changes being the addition of a BGM mode and CG mode. So unlike 01 and 03, it maintains the exact same story and gaemeplay as the original, which means its kinda boring.
In this episode of Rance’s life, Sill takes him on a quest he didn’t want to take and ends up having to take the virginity of four mage girls to save to a town of people and sleep with the mayor’s daughter. Other then some of the mages being important girls later on, little of what I would call important happens in this game. A lot of the lore wasn’t really set up, and sometimes you can tell they are making stuff up to let things work out. I would consider this game to be something only someone who truly cares about the story should play, and actually they should either play the remake or read the Rance 1+2 digest which conatins Rance 1 and 2’s stories in visual novel form, without the grinding and boring combat.
Fights in this one are turn based, standard combat. You select either attack, special attack, item, or run. You really only get two different items, and your allies take care of using them well enough that you will ever really only need to attack. That just leaves dealing with stamina, but your character auto rests when they don’t have enough, so eventually I just held ctrl down and kept clicking the special attack button and won every match. That’s while you are playing Rance, but you also get to play as Sill where you will also be in charge of healing. Its not really anymore fun, but you at least get more options. Other then that the game is a dungeon crawler with silly puzzles and rape. It’s also fairly short even with the 4~ sidequests the game has. Really, only diehard fans should play this, its not very fun and even Rance 3 at least has a story and lore to tell unlike this one.
Save- All cg’s unlocked, may not work with English version. If it doesn’t, just say so and I’ll see about doing it.

Sequel Colony

Ahh, the Agarest series. One of the worst marketing experiences I’ve ever had when it comes to what was promised and what the game is actually about. Agarest 1 was basically one of the earliest games I played that was about fanservice that wasn’t straight up porn, though the ads and marketing really pushed the fleshy side of the game more then the 100+ hour RPG side of it. My experience with the series only got more positive as I played through the later ones, the first game sapped any motivation I had to play it. Multiple times.
It’ll be a while before the entire series is here. The first game is stupid long and I have a hard time sitting down and devoting any real time to it, and because of save game bonuses you have to play the first three in order. Mariage, the final game, doesn’t have that limit because it was on the PSP, not the main consoles.
Agarest 1 and Zero are strategy RPGs, while Mariage and 2 are turn based.

Never thought I’d throw up a Vanillaware post when I started this blog. Thought Eiyuu Senki would be the closest artwise, but here we are. The beat’em up with looter elements that set the internet on fire because of the Sorceress’ boobs and the Amazon’s thunder thighs. This was the first game where it was obvious scores were being lowered because of character design. Sadly not nearly the last.

Oh, Shantae. the hip wiggling, hair swinging, bikini clad half-genie. She’s the star of one of the better animated 2d metroidvania’s out there, and one of the few with a cute sexy aesthetic to the girls. Like seriously, every girl wears a bikini like thing and maybe pants. Half the enemies even follow the pattern. It makes sense, the games take place on mostly tropical islands where actual clothes would suck, but since every character has idle animations and the girls move a lot it’s very nice to look at.
Shantae is probably not a series most would think of when the topic of ecchi comes up, but hell. I wanted to play it so here it is.
