[Ecchi]Yu-No Remake

Ah, yes. Yu-No. it got a remake based on its 15+ PS2 port a while ago and I figured I’d add it to the ecchi game list. Honestly remakes are in a weird grey area when considering how to treat them, is it a censored porn game cause the original was? Or is it all ages since it was designed that way based on an already done all ages port? Meh, who honestly cares? Play your preferred version, it’s not like this and the original Yu-No are actually competing.

This isn’t going to be a standard review post. I’ll talk about my feelings of Yu-No based on my old memories, comment on this remake, then talk about dating sims, adventure games, and visual novels.

[Ecchi…kinda]Scarlet City of Devils

Indie metroidvania game about a demon girl going around and… paying off her debt to some bath owner into saving the underworld. I guess.

This is one of those odd ecchi things. It has the aesthetic. Bikini armor fox girl demon lead, plenty of art of that bikini armor girl, a bathhouse plays a major role and most of the bosses go there after you beat them up and take baths. I just don’t think anything is actually all that pervy.

[Ecchi]Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak 2

1/10. How dare they put Rixia into the post final boss cutscene for like a minute and then not put her in the party for the postgame but give you Fei who also only shows up in that same cutscene.

Ahem. Daybreak 2 is a sequel to Daybreak, but not really to the Trails series. As in it does very little for the overall story, instead giving small character arc steps for the core cast in different ways. It also adds back in a bunch of missing stuff from Daybreak 1, like a card game. And plentiful ingame costumes.

Like the rest of the Trails series, just going to talk through some thoughts and general impressions. No full category talk stuff here.

[Ecchi]Ruined Nurse

eTRUe’s 1st person survivor horror style game, the followup to Crawling Lab.

-Updated 5/7 for Hard Survival mode update, which added some more clothes to buy and a hard mode for the survival mode. Save updated.

Take Abyss School’s puzzles and Crawling Lab’s shooting, then remove anything about those games that gave them character and put it in a hospital you get this. Lots of zombie nurses.

[Ecchi… Not Really]Death end re;Quest 2

Sequel to Death end;Quest. Mostly similar in gameplay, though story style is more helpless children and far more occulty then the VR/real world mixing and cult stuff from 1. Has slightly less lewd stuff, or in other words barely any.

I have to rant a bit before getting to the rest of the game stuff. Every guide lies a bit. All of them. They list NG+ as being the only condition for the extra story stuff the game has. That stuff is NG+ True End only. If you take the final bad end, which also has a NG+ option, you set yourself up for an entire extra playthrough. That was dumb.

[Ecchi…barely]Death end re;Quest

In my continued quest to get through all of Compile Hearts/Idea Factories fanservice games I finally went through their most serious title. If Fairy Fencer was an attempt at being serious Neptunia with a 50/50 split on silly and serious, Death end is Neptunia if you inverted the tone entirely. 90% serious, 10% silly.

The game is 60%~ VN and the rest is turn based RPG in a similar vein to Neptunia.

[Ecchi]Senran Kagura: Deep Crimson

The second Senran Kagura, the end of the first timeline, and the last original game for me to play… except they released an endless runner this year and ruined my whole intro.

Deep Crimson is the second proper game and the end of what was originally the Nintendo timeline of games. It’s still focused on the Hanzo and Crimson Squad girls, but introduces Kagura and is the game in the series with the biggest focus on yoma. Which really aren’t as scary as the rest of the series paints them as.
