A couple of fantranslated Alicesoft games from the Misc. page. The only kind of good one is Mamatoto.
Kaeru no Panyo~n I II
Probably the worst translated Alicesoft game, beating even Dungeons and Dolls at being boring and not worth whatever it cost at release. The game is a basic SRPG that is also a giant escort mission. Every turn in a level, your escort moves one space forward and then whatever is behind them vanishes and the next row appears. Your job is to protect him with the 7 girls. The maps end up being quite boring pretty quickly and its attempts to be a longer game is just adding trial and error into it, as the only way to get the true ending is to beat the game once to learn the right order, or look it up. The story is a prince leaves his castle and gets cursed by a mage working for his brother. The rest of the game is your character, with the 7 girls, trying to find their way back to MC’s castle, though I will say the story wrap up is nice. H is just cgs, mostly being of the rape variety. Save contains all cgs, a beaten run for completion mode, and a save at every tier of play. Note, a Japanese save will not work with this game in English and an English save will not work on the Japanese version.
Mamatoto ~a record of war~ I II
An SRPG from Alicesoft that is quite enjoyable. Its plot is basic and works well, focusing on a small country that thanks to Nanas, its general, gains a system that allows the small country/fortress to take out other ones even with lower numbers and take over the country to stop war. That’s the main plot, and the game has a side plot with the rapist dad, leading to two very different kinds of cgs and scenes, one being fairly standard vanilla stuff and the other being rape and S&M heavy stuff. Scenes are mostly short and not replayable. Gameplay has a few different types but generally you send out a few units to kill other units, and defend the core of your fortress. Its decently done with almost all 20 of your units getting their own unique specials and stat growths so they feel unique. If you ever feel you are under leveled, grinding is simple with literally a grind option between chapter battles, and it goes pretty quick with you usually gaining a level per fight for who you use. Overall a decently easy game that has a few Rance cameos and a good soundtrack. Save contains all cgs unlocked, as well as a save that has all the lore cards which can be funny reads. Note: This will not work on Japanese versions of the game due to engine changes. Also I had to cheat a bit with this game due to how 3 cgs were done. I mentioned the game is easy, and it is, but for three cg’s you cannot grind as they are rewards for low level runs which makes the game incredibly hard. I cheated to get those 3 by altering health and nothing else.
Toushin Toshi I II
An old Alicesoft classic from 1990. I don’t have a lot to say about this other then the encounter rate is atrocious and that its sequel is basically the same game but better in any way. Overall, you shouldn’t play this, but play the sequel if you are interested, its better. Gameplay is basic turn based combat, nothing special. H scenes are short and not very good. Story is tournament style with a secret at the end, decent enough. Save has all cgs unlocked for viewing except two, a set of one Gal Monster I could never find after three hours of looking. If someone ever finds the monster Splish Splach/Chapu Chapu then send me a save with that captured and I’ll redo my hundred percent.
