An RPG Maker MV… visual novel with bartender sim game elements. It has a first person visual novel display. Why RPG Maker?

Anyway, October is here and I’m theming around monster girls. Monster girls, cosplay, spooky, October is a fun month.

Story

So our main guy is the Prince of Demons, and he opened up a tavern in human lands. Their was a recent preace treaty between the human races and demons, and he wants to learn their culture via tavern stuff. He brought his mistresses lovers as waitresses. Using his powers makes him horny. So of course his bar gets destroyed a few times just so h scenes from an aggressive guy can happen.

So there are two main parts of this. The main overall story is how the relations of human races and demons are changing now that they are at peace, and individual stories that fill in world lore and contribute to the new era they live in. You also get snippets of the past, specifically the lives of our MC’s lovers and the other children of the four Devas, the strongest of the demons.

The MC doesn’t really do anything. You just hear stories and maybe he’ll offer some moral support. He’s a bartender after all, not a main character.

Gameplay

Not much. You have a book with 26 recipes and you basically match the recipe to what the customer wants. Sometimes they want things that feel like a puzzle, other times they give a broad category and you just pick the most expensive drink becasue why not? Getting orders right gets you money, which you spend on either gifts for the main girls to get their scenes, perfume that forces specific NPC’s to show up for their mini arcs, or some key items used for other sex scenes.

It appears to look like a simulation game, but it’s really more of a puzzle game. A weak puzzle game.

H and Other stuff

Mostly vanilla. The first goddess scene does not fit with the rest of the scenes at all, with the main male turning into a jackass and forcing himself on her, and the vampire’s scenes are kind of femdom. The game has scenes with text and two image loop animations and scenes that are just the loops. The animation loops always play, and the text scenes just have sections where the animation just goes for a while killing flow, and making the scenes feel longer then they are. Not a fan.

Varieties probably the strongest thing it has, with a decent set of monster girls and a few different fetishes like bondage, femdom, I guess swinging? Two girls are in relationships or married but just casually state they are open or it’s not cheating if it’s their mouths. That kind of thinking really just disgusts me, but if you like that kind of stuff it’s here. I just can’t like a girl who after sex comes to a guy and tells him the other dicks she tried just weren’t as good. Instead of feeling complimented, I just wouldn’t want anything to do with her again. The sex cult girl does this. It’s things like that peppered through the game that made me skip a majority of the scenes.

I did like the creamy art style. It’s anime esque but looks slightly different from most other things I’ve played. Creamy is really the only word that comes to mind.

Verdict

Why is there this movement to make not RPGs in RPG Maker? Renpy is free, does it not have a Korean translation guide or something? I just don’t get the appeal of using mismatched engines, though I guess maybe that’s the point? Some recent shows have kind of proved that throwing money at all your issues results in boring shows, creativity kind of needs difficulty and life experiences to really thrive. I doubt that’s why, but maybe using mismatched engines would make for a good project?

Anyway, whatever. It’s basically a VN, but the plot is kind of lacking. The story already happened, this is just the aftermath. The gameplay isn’t anything to write home about, so it kind of just feels whatever. Play it for the porn I guess?
