Helga: Euphorium’s Song

H Scene Count- 34

Created by Tuomo Laine

Length- 2 hours, another 45~ minutes for reloading for cgs

This was weird. I have to wonder how much of the plot was actually decided on early, or if the writer just decided to do “lol, how random!” story beats for the fun of it. The story and art combined make it so close to a drug trip feeling of a game.

It’s an RPG Maker, western game. Short. Not terrible, but not good. It’s art makes it standout.

Story

After a heroic saving of a Queen of BBC and marrying her, the futa hero Helga is sent on a quest by a mysterious voice to get a party and save the world. After recruiting the 3 women, shit happens, and then some backstabbing and then a weirdly serious plot for the look of the game that I could not tell if the creator just wanted lol random or was serious about this whole thing.

There’s just points were the game jumps in serious and melodrama that I was never sure if I was suppose to be laughing or not from how different the tone was. Go from filming porno’s with the crew to learning about Helga’s abusive Mom. It’s that energy that makes this more weird then anything else.

It also just skips plot beats. There’s a whole kingdom you just get a pass for the gate and never actually enter, a point where you are suppose to get the plot explained only to wake up getting attacked for a reason that’s never dealt with. Helga is the only character who has backstory and matters, the three girls are basically just tag-alongs.

Gameplay

It’s mostly standard RPG maker combat, but with a focus on the SMT hit with weakness, gain a turn thing. Until about the end of the game, most fights are use spell, get second turn and then kill. They are stunned so even if killing it is impossible on that turn you can just stun it again. It wasn’t until the end game challenge bosses and the final two boss fights that winning by stunlocking wasn’t an option. Of course, by then you just spam attack with the ultimate weapons ad have so much money that spamming elixirs is an option.

The final fights are hard though. Annoyingly so considering you have to repeat the final boss about 5 times for cg completion.

There’s not much else here to comment on. The game does track which girls you sleep with, as it often offers choices on who to bang after big events(which for gallery completion, need a lot of reloading). This is important for the ending sequence though thankfully doesn’t limit endings.

The gallery is a notebook in your inventory, where every cg is named. Most are easy, it’s girl’s name with act. Some are weird though, since they are named after the porno movies the cg came from in game.

H and Other stuff

It’s all just cgs, though some play a sound effect sequence that I think is suppose to be sex, it sounds weird though. Anyway, futa heavy content. With a very hand drawn exaggerated style. It’s that style that brought me to this with just how different it is to everything else I play, though I very much recognize this won’t be good for most people. I’m not even sure if I like it.

Anyway, has some threesome+ content some yuri, a porn movie making sequence so each girl and the protag just sleep around for money, and a few miscellaneous stuff like the slime girl cgs. Also a weird tentacle thing with some pregnant women.

Verdict

It’s weird. I feel it’s the kind of thing you play when you are already drunk and want to see something just off enough. I can’t really call any part of it good, not that I’d call it actively bad. It feels almost unfinished. Like another coat of paint needed to be thrown over it to make it work. Work how? I’m not sure. I can’t really tell what it was going for.

Save for Helga: Euphorium’s Song

Contains- Use the gallery in inventory and you’ll have all scenes. You can also load the final save to fight the end boss for the endings.
