H Scene Count- No idea, it’s hard to get an idea
Created by Lotrum
Length- Varies a lot by your goals. A run by the end took around 3 hours for me.
The first HTML based game for the blog, this game is a dating sim roguelite. If that makes any sense. I kind of got addicted to the game for a bit, I’ll explain the why in the gameplay bit.
Story
You start as a failure of a guy. Fat, no good job, and generally no real reason to hope until he gets a letter about some test VR Ai thing that will let he return to a better time and better himself. He’s basically a test subject for a full dive VR game where he repeats a specific time period from college where gets stronger, smarter, and way more action then he when he actually did it. This in turn will improve his real world self. Repeat.
The in world story is you are basically a new student, and your life sucks. Your guide bales, your childhood friend hates you, and so on. You have to up your stats and gain some reputation and get some action. generally the girls don’t really have much in the way of storylines, just enough stuff to stall the scenes until you have the stats.
Gameplay
So roguelite dating sim. You raise stats by clicking actions, which move time forward. You have a set number of days to achieve any goals you set for yourself and get as much content as you can manage. You have to manage stress, lust, energy and time while raising around 9 stats and each girl’s love to get more stuff. The game actually has an interesting setup with the stats. You have stat checks, where you need x amount to do things. as you would expect. But you also have each girls attraction stat, which is how much they like you. it is a combination of some percent of around 5 of your stats and their love added together. Their attraction is the first barrier to contend with for progression, with sexual control being the core end game stat to get a bunch of achievements and more content.
The player has 3 meta progression systems, and these are the actual backbone of the game. The first and most obvious is your mental and sexual stats are saved at the end of each run, and the next run starts with x% of your highest achieved for these 6 stats. So a few runs for just raising confidence or coding to make other runs smoother aren’t uncommon when you get more days to play.
The second, and really the one I actually like and the reason I got obsessed with the game, is the achievement based progression. Just about everything you can do can reward achievements that mess with different mechanics or reward stats. Things like shortening class times, increasing the length of the whole run, lowering costs of actions, increasing starting love, raising misc other stats unique to girls to save 5 or more meetings with them, and so on. This is your main checklist of what to do while playing and I love stuff like this. I’ll be making a post about this kind of progression in a bit so I’ll save the rants about it for that. Basically you get rewarded for a bunch of stuff in amounts that make your actions in the run still important but noticeably changed how you play.
The third is a shop between runs where you spend xp, which is mostly gained by getting action in runs. The shop lets you raise your 2 physical stats, raise the percent of carried over stats, some QOL stuff, and allow you to trigger some unique scene stuff. Also a special scene gallery for more seasonal style stuff.
I played the game with ignoring the 3rd method of progression as much as possible. I only bought what I had to for other achievements and one thing for QOL. I played only in hard mode with no starting bonus, relying only on the 1st and 2nd method of progression. My brain really liked this though I won’t deny there was several points where I was doing basically the same clicks to raise a stat to get 1 achievement after 2 hours.
So basically at the start you just run rampant, trying to get anywhere. After a few runs you settle down on a few girls to focus on getting content for and finally after a point you focus on setting up the right relationships to trigger certain scenes and then spam all the sex in the game to get sex control to get the final bits of scenes to happen for the last few achievements. It took me like 20-30 runs to finish, on easy using all the mechanics you could probably 100% the game in 4-6 runs.
H and Other stuff
Fairly normal stuff. Each girl gets a little bit or everything, with most girls ending on anal scenes or threesomes, with a few girls having blackmail themed scenes. Scenes flow with video then some text then repeat, broken up by stat checks to see if you have the stats to see the scene to the end. If you don’t, you normally get an opening and an end, with the middle getting more poses as you up your stats.
It’s live action, so nothing ridiculous. Girls trend smaller, which is fitting for the college setting. You will see most scenes a lot while grinding through so luckily they are quick to skim through.
Verdict
I realize recommending stuff where I purposely played wrong to have more fun is a weird thing to do. I didn’t play this as intended, I played this in the highest difficulty I could, with as little boons to make the game faster as I could. All this actually accomplished was making the whole game take hours longer, but I was memorized. I wish there were more games with achievement based progression. Not unlocks new starting units or new gear to find in a run or a meta shop where you up your stats, but you beat 50 enemies with fire so burning damage goes up. Stuff like that where every action makes progress to your account, I’ve been obsessed with this stuff for years. Basically no game does it the way I want, and I realize designing this is likely a big mess and the actual game would be likely a hard sell, but I dream of this kind of thing.
So yeah, I’m biased toward this. I loved playing this. I also realize it happens to be almost built for someone like me and most people don’t like the games I do. But this is a personal 9/10 for me, though for most people it’s probably a 5/10 or so. Having this style of progression in something where player skill matters at all would be better, but this dating sim with goals works just fine.
Save for Second Chance V.67
Contains- All achievements save for 1 unlocked, which would require me to break my run rules to get. In general, most scenes would be easy to trigger.
