Continue readingJust to be clear, I have no idea who the phantoms are. No one in this game is ever called a phantom, and there is no group of 2 and suddenly a third enters. The game’s about a set of twins and their foster parents who are siblings. That’s four, not three.
Anyway, Bleach. I watched Bleach around until the end of the Soul Society arc, which I guess was a good thing since most of what I hear beyond that point isn’t really that great. There’s something about the ending that really sucks apparently, and I kind of enjoy having no idea why any love for Bleach as a series just kind of died one day.
For those who don’t what what Bleach is, it’s very anime. Orange haired kid can see ghosts and gets the power to fight evil ghosts. After some real world shenanigans that set up his main crew he gets involved with Soul Society, a group that basically manages reincarnation and wandering souls. Apparently some rule breaking happens with the girl who gave Ichigo aka orange hair his powers and stuff happens and it’s all part of a giant two sided conspiracy fight apparently. None of that matters for this game beyond that Soul Society is a thing and that arc happened.
As for why a Bleach game is here, well this game has many hot spring cgs. For some reason. The cgs themselves aren’t anything impressive. I just wanted to highlight a series with some well known fanservice girls. And guys I guess, the game is very equal about who is in this hot springs.
Continue readingAs far as I can tell, this the most recent game from Honey Parade, the team in charge of Senren Kagura and Valkyrie Drive. Jet Girls was another multi media project by them, but unlike Drive it only got a game and an anime. The show is fine and really the only good thing to come out of this project. The game is well… the result of Sony I’m pretty sure.
But before I get into the details of why I feel like this game is just bleh in all regards, what is this? It’s a jet ski racer like Wave Race 64(fittingly, the game has 64 story missions). It feels like it wants to be a kart racer though with items and supers and tricks. Calling it an ecchi racer though is well…
Continue readingI was intending to do Mary Skelter next instead of this since I wanted to split the two dungeon crawlers up, but then the Pirate entry in the series got announced for the West and I figured I’d do Crystal instead and finish the Skelter series in October, maybe.
Crystal is basically Chronicle, but a completely different take. A decent chunk of the monster girls are the same, but the story and some added gameplay elements make them fairly different experiences.
Spin off 3, game #6 of the Neptunia series. The first hack and slash, and also the first to be made by the Senran team. I was kind of hoping this game would blow the brand new Senran x Neptunia game out of the water. I ended up wondering how with that team they ended up with something this lifeless and bland. Like if the rest of the spin offs are like this, I get why the series is dying.
So I rate ecchi game’s on three metrics. Most games usually try to do at least one of these metrics well as it’s actual selling point. This game doesn’t. I think it’s selling point is fanservice, but that’s actually one of it’s weakest aspects for me. It’s gameplay, which makes up 99% of your playtime, is really the only reason to play this, and really I just wouldn’t recommend it for that either. This feels really budget, more so then the usual Neptunia fair.

It’s on DLSite with their DRM(and was released basically everywhere else like 2 days after I started playing it). I learned it it via google translating qureate’s twitter, as that was the only place with news of this. I was google translating their twitter becasue I wanted to know what the hell the plan with was after it got banned from Steam. This is by far qureate’s lewdest game to date, in a way it’s even lewder then their actual porn VN’s.
