RPG Maker with an active top down horde shooter gameplay. You run around finding gear and key items to make it to boss fights and eventually freedom.
Story
Guy wakes up in shared Succubi dream thing. Get drained, die. A butterfly tries to help you out by guiding you to the Queen of Succubi to win and end the dream. That’s it.
Gameplay
The core loop is run around areas avoiding monsters and girls to find items and gear and progression. If monsters touch you, you take damage but can’t die. If girls touch you, then you enter their sprite animation loop and if at 0 HP you die.
Your main method of dealing with girls are guns. You press the A key to enter attack stance and press the S key to shoot. You have another button to reload and during this stance, you can’t turn and move slowly. When not in shooting mode you can throw your secondary items, which are grenades. You can carry specific amounts of items and if you go over the max the overfill will go into the storage box in the safe rooms.
Most of the game you can just dodge the enemies. You get some money from fighting but can run out of resources and the melee weapons are terrible, so I would advise only fighting when the game forces via boss fights or events. Getting caught is usually no big deal and healing isn’t terribly expansive. It did surprise me that there is no bed or rest option, healing items are the only way to heal outside of a terrible cost ratio spell you have. You can craft stuff together to get around the inventory limits and can even up your max HP. 4 of the 6 boss fights also only exist to drop stuff to upgrade your gear. You don’t need to fight them.
It’s fairly short. Three core areas with 6 total bosses. Only 2 of those are succubi, the other 4 are generic RPG maker big enemies though the fights worked well. I was actually surprised at them being decent.
H and Other stuff
Split between two different things. One is the sprite animations which happen whenever a succubus touches you. It’s just an animation with some sound effects. All girls have these.
If you lose to a succubus with a heart above their head, you get a cg h scene after dying. These are what are in the gallery. Only the fairy and slime variants have full scenes (same cg, different color girl) + the bosses. Which is disappointing. The kinda bad English made the one scene I bothered to read kinda weak. Succubi domination stuff relies a lot on text.
Verdict
Of the weird gameplay things being made in RPG Maker I’ve played; this worked the best. It’s far too short, but the experience works. Boss fights were fun. I won’t deny the game feels janky. Switching shoot mode on and off sometimes has lag to it. Needed more h scenes and some proofreading by an English speaker.
It’s an odd afternoon experience.
